This pendant features a REAL hydrangea bloom, forever preserved in copper. It is accented by a small Herkimer Diamond. It has been darkened using a mineral process to provide an aged patina.
Herkimers are double terminated quartz points found in Herkimer County, New York. They are not a true diamond, but called such due to their well known clarity. Just look at that sparkle!
Using a process called Electroforming, we are able to "grow" the copper over an organic item. This preserves the intricate details and keeps the original item forever entombed in copper. Copper is deposited onto the piece over 18-36 hours using an acid bath and electricity. It's science that feels like magic!
