This pendant features a fossilized porcupine fish mouth plate, used for crushing shelled prey. This fossil was found in the USA and is from the Pleistocene to Eocene 10,000 - 58 million Years Old
Using a process called Electroforming, we are able to "grow" copper onto the fossil. Copper is deposited onto the piece over 18-36 hours using an acid bath and electricity. It's science that feels like magic!
